best b2b saas review sites

Quick answer: The main B2B software review sites are G2, Capterra (with its sister sites Software Advice and GetApp) and TrustRadius. Since January 2026 G2 has agreed to acquire Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp from Gartner, so most of the big review platforms now sit under one owner. Use them to build a shortlist and read real users’ pros and cons, but don’t treat star ratings or “leader” badges as a final verdict: check how reviews are verified and read the detailed reviews from companies like yours.

How we put this guide together: We have not run our own audit of these platforms. This guide is based on the platforms’ own published information: G2’s acquisition announcement (January 29, 2026), G2’s review verification documentation and TrustRadius’s content integrity page.

One owner for most of the big review sites

On January 29, 2026, G2 announced it had “formally agreed to acquire” Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp from Gartner. G2 says the combined network will reach “200+ million annual software buyers” and hold “nearly 6 million verified customer reviews”. The announcement didn’t say whether the brands will stay separate. For buyers, it means checking several of these sites may no longer give you fully independent perspectives, so it’s worth also reading TrustRadius and talking to peers.

How these sites verify reviews

According to G2’s documentation, reviewers must sign in with a business email, LinkedIn account or personal Gmail account, and “every review is reviewed by a member of G2’s moderation team”. Reviewers can upload screenshots to support their claims, which are never made public. G2 also says reviewers with a business relationship that could bias them, such as resellers, can share insight, but “their reviews do not count toward scoring”.

TrustRadius describes its approach on its content integrity page, emphasising moderation of reviews before they’re accepted. It also invites vendors to source reviews from their own customers. Many platforms do this, and it’s one reason ratings can skew positive. When you read reviews, look for how a site labels reviews collected through vendor campaigns or with incentives.

How to use review sites well

  1. Filter by company size and industry. A tool that suits a 5,000-person enterprise may frustrate a 10-person team.
  2. Read the 3-star reviews. They’re often the most balanced, naming both strengths and real limitations.
  3. Look at review dates. Software changes quickly; reviews older than a year or two may describe a different product.
  4. Don’t over-weight badges. Category “leader” badges reflect a site’s own scoring of reviews and market presence, not an independent test.
  5. Confirm on a trial. Use reviews to build a shortlist, then test the top two or three tools on your own work.

Which review site should you use?

Our verdict: Start on G2 or Capterra to see the main options in a category and build a shortlist. Then read in-depth reviews on TrustRadius and filter all of them by company size and industry. Treat all of them as a guide to what to test, not as the final word.

Don’t rely on a single site’s star rating or badge, especially now that most of the large platforms share an owner. Combine reviews with a free trial and conversations with people in similar roles.

Frequently asked questions

Did G2 buy Capterra?

G2 announced on January 29, 2026 that it had agreed to acquire Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp from Gartner. Its announcement didn’t say whether the brands will continue to run separately.

Are G2 reviews verified?

G2 says reviewers must sign in with a business email, LinkedIn or Gmail account, that every review is checked by a member of its moderation team, and that reviewers can upload screenshots as supporting evidence, which are never made public.

Can you trust software review sites?

They’re useful for building a shortlist and spotting common complaints, but ratings can skew positive when vendors encourage their customers to leave reviews. Read detailed reviews from companies like yours and confirm with a trial.

What is the difference between G2 and TrustRadius?

Both collect reviews from business users. G2 covers a very wide range of categories and is acquiring Capterra and its sister sites; TrustRadius is independent of that group and emphasises in-depth reviews and moderation before publishing.
