secretlab titan evo 2022 review still the best in 2026

Disclosure: Reviewers’ Guild may earn a commission from some links on this site. It never affects what we recommend.

Quick answer: Yes. Four years after launch, the Secretlab Titan Evo (2022 Series) is still the gaming chair most expert reviewers recommend first. It comes in three sizes, has lumbar support built into the backrest, and is well made. The main trade-offs are a firm seat and a price well above budget chairs.

How we put this guide together: We have not run our own long-term test of this chair. Instead, we compared Secretlab’s published specifications with the findings of reviewers who have tested it in depth, mainly PC Gamer and TechRadar. Where a claim comes from one of them, we say so.

Is the Titan Evo still the best gaming chair in 2026?

For most people, yes. PC Gamer’s buying guide (updated October 2026) still names it the best overall gaming chair, saying the top pick “remains one that we’ve been recommending for years: the Secretlab Titan Evo.” TechRadar’s review concluded that it “beats most bucket-seat gaming chairs on the market, especially in terms of customizations and adjustments for comfort.”

The 2022 Series is still Secretlab’s flagship Titan model, so buying one today gets you the same chair those reviews describe.

What reviewers like

  • Lumbar support you can actually adjust. Instead of a strap-on cushion, the support is built into the backrest and adjusts in four directions, so it can be set to the shape of your lower back.
  • A real size range. Most gaming chairs come in one size. The Titan Evo comes in three, which matters most for shorter and taller people.
  • Adjustability overall. TechRadar singled out its “customizations and adjustments for comfort”, including the 4D armrests and the recline.
  • A long track record. PC Gamer has recommended it for years, and the 2022 design has been on sale long enough that it’s a known quantity rather than a gamble.

What reviewers flag

  • The seat is firm. TechRadar lists “Seat is on the firm side” as a reason to think twice. If you want a soft, sink-in seat, this isn’t it.
  • Price. PC Gamer notes it is “Pricier than older Secretlab chairs”.
  • Warranty. PC Gamer points out that the standard “3-year warranty isn’t a match for some ergo chairs.” Premium office chairs often carry much longer warranties.
  • Fabric and casters. TechRadar’s review of the SoftWeave Plus version says the “fabric could be more luxurious” and the “casters aren’t the best we’ve seen”.

Which size should you choose?

Secretlab’s own size guidance:

SizeRecommended heightRecommended weight
SmallUp to 5’6″ (169 cm)Under 200 lb (90 kg)
Regular5’7″–6’2″ (170–189 cm)Under 220 lb (100 kg)
XL5’11″–6’9″ (181–205 cm)175–395 lb (80–180 kg)

If you’re between sizes, use Secretlab’s size guide on its store before ordering. The heights overlap, so build and weight decide it.

Leatherette or fabric?

NEO Hybrid Leatherette is the standard option. It’s smooth and easy to wipe clean. Like most leatherette, it’s less breathable than fabric. SoftWeave Plus is a woven fabric that breathes better, which suits warm rooms and long sessions, but it’s harder to spot-clean. NAPA leather is the premium, real-leather option.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Our verdict: Buy the Titan Evo if you sit for several hours a day, want lumbar support you can tune properly, and are happy with a firm, supportive seat. It is the safest premium choice in gaming chairs.

Skip it if you want a soft seat, need the longest possible warranty, or would rather have a mesh office chair, which stays cooler. If the price is the sticking point, Secretlab’s own Titan Evo Lite is a cheaper sibling with a simpler integrated lumbar curve and two sizes.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a newer version of the Titan Evo?

The 2022 Series is still Secretlab’s current Titan Evo. New releases since launch have mostly been special editions and the cheaper Titan Evo Lite, not a replacement for the main chair.

Is the Titan Evo good for back pain?

Its built-in lumbar support adjusts more precisely than the loose cushions on most gaming chairs, which helps many people sit with better posture. It is not a medical device, though. If you have an existing back condition, take advice from a healthcare professional.

Is the seat comfortable?

It’s firm by design. Reviewers describe the cold-cure foam as supportive rather than plush. People who like a soft seat may find it too hard.
